Lisa Elaine Cruz

Lisa Elaine Cruz, 51, of Cobden, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in the Union County Hospital in Anna after fighting her battle with leukemia.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1965, in Anna, the daughter of Ted and Ruth Pearson Turner.

She is survived by her fiance, Charles Estel of Cobden; her mother, Ruth (Joe) Hardin of Cobden; three sons, Stephen Smith (Jamie White) of Jonesboro, Anthony Wohlwend (Maci McClendon) of Carbondale and Floyd (Rachel) Smith of Alto Pass; a daughter, Jessilyn Estel of Cobden; six grandchildren; five sisters, Marilyn Smith of Cobden, Ruth (L.K.) Fisher of Lebanon, Tenn., Debbie (Kim) Rendleman of Elk City, Idaho, Diane (Chris) Melcher of Hemp Hill, Texas, and Becky Dresel (fiance Steve Cunningham) of Cascade, Mont.; one brother, Tim Glasco of Cobden; in-laws to be, Mike (Becky) Estel of Anna; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; two special friends, Diane Wiseman and Margie Daily, both of Anna; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Turner; her stepmother, Darlene Turner; her stepfather, Alfred Tellor; her maternal grandfather, Willard Pearson; and her paternal grandfather, Everett Turner.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Anna Chapter 1181 and Immanuel Baptist Church in Cobden. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cruz were at noon Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Rev. Ed Falgout officiating. Interment was in the Casper Cemetery near Anna.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Leukemia Foundation.
