Linda Sue Calvert
Linda Sue Calvert, 71, of East Cape Girardeau, and formerly of Cairo, died at 3:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, at her home.
She was born in Cairo on Aug. 31, 1948, the daughter of John Whitehead and Patsy Dodd Whitehead.
She married Edwin Calvert on Dec. 23, 1966.
She worked as a cook at Witz’s Restaurant in East Cape Girardeau. She loved to play bingo, work in the yard with her flowers and fish with Ed.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Calvert; a son, Timothy Calvert; daughters Kimberly Rains and Jennifer Schmitt; four grandchildren, Cora, Shelby, Kaci and Charlie; four great-grandchildren, Corbin, Luke, Eli, and Parker; two great-great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Mae and Willa Grace; two sisters, Sharon Williams and Pam Boyd; and one brother, Tom Williams.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Calvert; her mother, Patsy Williams; her father, John Whitehead; and a brother, Curtis Whitehead.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo, with the Rev. Larry Potts officiating. Interment followed in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
