Linda Kay Riggs Ryan

Linda Kay Riggs Ryan, 64, of Dongola, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1955, in Cairo, the daughter of William Henry and Elsie Geraldine Schierbaum Riggs. 

She married Jim Ford on June 3, 1972. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1976.

She retired from Laborer’s Local 773, where she had worked as a claims processor and previously a supervisor of health insurance.  

Her day revolved around her family and you couldn’t find a more proud grandma than her. She was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church.

She survived by her daughters, Jessi Causey and Kisha Hileman; grandchildren Kaden Greer, Kasen Causey, Ryan (Hannah) Hileman and Nathan Hileman; a great-grandchild, Josie Hileman; brothers Gary Riggs and Keith Palmer; sisters Melissa Palmer and Mickie Grear; her former husband, John Ryan; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and  by a brother, Charles Allen Palmer.

Funeral services for Linda Ryan will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, today, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. Burial will follow in the American Legion Cemetery.
