Linda Gail Robertson Dowdy

Linda Gail Robertson Dowdy, 74, of Olive Branch, died at 10 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on April 3, 1946, in Grand Tower, the daughter of Bill and Louise Hatley Robertson.  

She married Keith Dowdy on Nov. 8, 1963. He preceded her in death  on Feb. 6, 1982.  

She was a full-time mom, grandmother and homemaker. She attended Alexander Free Will Baptist Church, enjoyed visiting with friends at the Kozy, and enjoyed playing pinochle at the Branch Restaurant.  

Survivors include her daughter, Christy of Olive Branch; two sons, Tim (Lisa) of Jackson and Todd (Donna) of Fruitland; six grandchildren, Lance (Amanda) Neal, Aaron (Sabrina) Shockley, Danni (Tom) Goldstein, Blake Neal, Tyler Dowdy and Lexi Dowdy; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Bradshaw of Scott City and Mary Robertson of Harrisburg; two brothers, Frank (Michele) Robertson of Phoenix and J.R. Robertson of Murphysboro; two half-sisters, Laurie Girtman and Marilyn Cripps, both of Grand Tower; two half-brothers, Wesley Robertson of Chester and Jeremy Robertson of Anna; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings Merle “Duke,” Billy and Mike Robertson, Shirley Wells, Blanch Garms and Donna Lambert. 

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Crain Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Terry McKee officiating. Interment followed in Shiloh Cemetery in Villa Ridge.
