Laura A. Eichhorst

Laura A. Eichhorst, 93, of Ullin, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at her home.

She was born on July 9, 1923, in Ullin, the daughter of Edward L. and Ora Taake Eichhorst.

She worked for Famous Barr in St. Louis for over 40 years as a department manager. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Dongola. She belonged to the Quilter’s Club at church and made care packages for new mothers, along with afghans to go overseas to military service men and women. She loved having the sewing group come over to her house and enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together.

She is survived by her brother, Elmer Eichhorst of Ullin; a nephew, William A. “Bill” (Kelly) Miller of Anna; a great-niece and a great-nephew, Megan and Jason Miller of Anna; other relatives and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; two sisters Gladys Miller and Vera Echhorst; a brother, Roy Eichhorst; a brother-in-law, Lewis Miller; and a nephew, Jeff Miller.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with Pastor TIm Heinecke officiating. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery near Ullin.
