LaDonna Rae Carter
LaDonna Rae Carter, 92, of Jonesboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 19, 2023.
She was born on June 20, 1930, in Ullin, the daughter of Lena Crippen.
She married George “Buster” Carter on Oct. 7, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1999.
She is survived by her four sons, Danny R. (Mary R.) Carter of Karnak, Larry W. (Lavera I.) Carter of Anna, Billy R. (Luci E.) Carter of Jonesboro and David C. (Suzanne) Carter of Jonesboro; a daughter, Cindi A. (Earl L.) Bond of Anna; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant son; her husband, George “Buster” Carter; her mother, Lena Crippen Palmer; and a brother, Jerry Stoner.
She was a member of the Jonesboro Pentecostal Church. She and Buster lived and raised their family in the Tamms and Elco area for many years.
She loved playing the piano and singing and was known for her wonderful cooking and baking. LaDonna cherished her time caring for all her grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Paul Mayberry officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
