Kathy Lentz

Kathy Lentz, 69, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and formerly of Dongola, died on Monday, May 20, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1949, in Cairo, the daughter of Gilbert and Rosann Baker Lentz.

She worked for a non-profit organization, the Disability Achievement Center, in data entry for 16 years.  She had previously worked for the Veteran’s Administration. She truly loved Fort Desoto Park and would visit there at least twice a month.

She is survived by her significant other, Rick Starr of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters Angela (John) Bryant of Ullin, Tonia (Kim) Capel of Anna and Patsy Veldhouse of Punta Gorda, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews, Jason Hacker, Lacey Hacker, Jeremy Capel, Andrea Goodman, Jeffrey Ridenhour, Debbie Taylor and Sheri Hensley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Elmer Kelley; and a brother-in-law, David Veldhouse.

Graveside services and inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola.

A memorial service, hosted by the family, also will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Anna Heights Baptist Church Chapel in the Family Life Center.

Memorials can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
