John W. Elkins

John W. Elkins, 84, of Anna, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at Union County Hospital in Anna. 

He was born on Oct. 21, 1935, in Ware, the son of James and Dovie Merriman Elkins. 

He married Lola Ryan on Feb. 13, 1999, in Anna.

Mr. Elkins is survived by his wife, Lola Elkins of Anna; one brother, Donald (Doris) Elkins of Massachusetts; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by five sisters and brothers. 

Mr. Elkins attended Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He was a member of the Refuge Worship Center in Ware for many years. He was an avid golfer. He retired from Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna after 26 years of service.

Funeral services were at noon Monday, Dec. 30, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor Danny Jones officiating. Interment was in the Anna Cemetery.
