Joan M. Fisher

Joan M. Fisher, 88, of Dyersburg, Tenn., died Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

She was born on March 28, 1932, in Cairo, the daughter of Paul and Anna Fischer Martin. 

She enjoyed various needlework, crocheting and reading. 

She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she served as a former member of the Holy Angels Pastoral Council. 

She was a former board member of the Dream Factory of Dyersburg and also was a former board member of Dyer County Lifeline Blood Services.

Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Hirtz officiating. 

Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Mullins of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a sister, Helen Smith of Redmond, Wash.; one granddaughter, Alexandra Thompson and husband, Joshua, of Union City, Tenn.; a great-grandson, Logan Thompson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald D. Fisher; a daughter, Theresa Fisher; a sister, Mary Lou Martin Harrell; and a brother, Billy Martin.

Memorials can be directed to McIver’s Grant  Public Library in Dyersburg, Tenn., or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dyersburg Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
