Jim loved his family dearly. For years, the family came to their home every Friday for a meal. Words of wisdom were always given out from God’s word, through talking and praying at the dinner table.
Jim was a pastor and served several churches in Illinois. When he became a pastor he stated, “I will be able to preach for at least 40 years” – and he did! He was still preaching to every family member and everyone who visited. He was always encouraging and trying to help Christians become totally committed to the Lord Jesus Christ. In most recent years Jim pastored at Oak Grove Baptist Church for 10 years until his death.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at the First Baptist Church in Cobden, with Matthew Hartline officiating. Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to SIDS, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy or to the Wilson family.
