Janice Short

Janice Short, 78, of Anna, died Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1941, in Dixon Springs, the daughter of James and Mary Etheridge Smith. 

She is survived by her daughter, Gina (Steve) Loughridge of Anna;  a son, Ron (Myra) Williams of Wolf Lake; grandchildren Whitney Perry (Brandon Robertson), Ronnie (Amy) Williams and Brittny Williams (Zack Kyle); great-grandchildren Alexis Williams, Caleb Perry, Mason Reynolds and Makenna Reynolds; cousins Mike (Lynn) Etheridge of North Carolina and Debbie (Steve) Clover of Alto Pass; a sister, Beth (Bret) Campbell of Golconda; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters Judy Stallions and Eloise Bierer; and a brother, Walter Smith. 

She was a member of the Baptist faith and attended different churches throughout her lifetime. She served as the Auxiliary president of the VFW from 1994 to 1995.  

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
