Janet L. Johnson

Janet L. Johnson, 74, of Jonesboro, died on March 10, 2019, at Landmark Critical Care Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Jan. 15, 1945, in Anna, the daughter of Lealeen and Juanita Osman Lingle.

She married Thomas Roy Johnson on Nov. 4, 1972.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2012.

Mrs. Johnson made a profession of faith at an early age and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, David Lingle of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Christie Johnson of Anna; a brother, Roger (Rosalind) Lingle of Dongola; two sisters, Pamela (Loren) Ferguson of Anna and Cynthia (Kyle) Kern of Dongola; five nieces, Scarlett (Nick) Tarpley, Shauna (Jason) Flare, Erica (Jacob) Poat and Gracen Kern, all of Dongola and Lorna Ferguson of Anna; a great-nephew and niece, Carson and Aubrey Poat of Dongola.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Central Cemetery in Murphysboro, with the Rev. Jay Franklin officiating.

Crain Funeral Home in Dongola was in charge of arrangements.
