Janene Spicer

Janene Spicer, 73, of Grand Tower, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at her home. 

She was born on Oct. 11, 1946, in Marion, the daughter of Bill and Georgia Boswell Hastings. 

She married George Spicer Sr. on May 6, 1963, in Marion. He preceded her in death on Dec.21, 2005. 

Mrs. Spicer is survived by her children, George Robert “Bobby” Spicer Jr. of Creal Springs, Mary Ann Smith of Wolf Lake and Kathy Chapman of Wolf Lake; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Hastings of Marion; and a niece, Frances Cavness of Grand Tower. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Spicer Sr.; a son, Jeffery Allen Spicer; and a brother, Loren Ray Hastings.

She loved shopping and fishing. Most of all she loved visiting with her family. She attended Arnold View Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Ivan Ryan officiating. Interment will follow at the Jonesboro Cemetery.
