Jan Michelle Porterfield

Jan Michelle Porterfield, 58, of Antioch, Tenn., and formerly of Dongola, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020.

She was born on May 1, 1962, in Anna, the daughter of Franklin Delano (Barney) and Elaine Jodene (Jo) McCommons Porterfield.  

She was a Dongola High School and a Murray State University graduate.  

She was well loved at Glenwood Baptist Church, where she made many wonderful contributions, especially in the choir and in the Glenwood Quartet.

Survivors include her uncle, Leon (Barbara) Porterfield of Dongola; an aunt, Patricia Beggs of Anna; a special sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Kyle Kern; nieces Erica (Jacob) Poat and Gracen Kern; a great-nephew and  a great-niece, Carson and Aubrey Poat, all of Dongola; many cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin (Barney) and Jodene (Jo) Porterfield.

Private services were held at 2 p.m Sunday, Nov. 29, at Christian Chapel Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating.  Interment followed.  

Services were livestreamed through the Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service Facebook page.  

Memorials can be made to the Christian Chapel Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
