James 'Jim' Beisner

James “Jim” Beisner, 82, of Anna, and formerly of Hanna, Wyo., died at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at his home.

He was born on July 24, 1937, in Ava, the son of William August and Ola Mable Nelson Beisner.  

He married Helen Riddle on Nov. 13, 1959.

For 23 years, Mr. Beisner worked for the Terminal Railroad in East St. Louis.  While in Hanna, Wyo., he worked for Carbon County Coal.  

He loved riding horses, mowing the lawn, spending time with his family and antique John Deere tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Beisner of Anna; children James Jr. (Charlotte) Beisner and Steve (Tamla) Beisner, both of Staunton, Debra (Duane) Stolns of Elk Mountain, Wyo., and Bruce (Dana) Beisner of La Plata, Md.; grandchildren James, Steven (Mindy), Aaron (Rebecca), Daniel (Alyssa), Chelsea (Jon); great-grandchildren Sophie, Madison, Jaxon, Ava, Bryce, Derek, Caleb and Mason; siblings Alma White of Ava, Billie Ruth (Gordon) Gale of Gorham, Raymond (Grace) Beisner of Havelock, N.C., Donna (Ronnie) Stone of Du Quoin, Connie Morber of Campbell Hill, Lester Beisner of Anna and Dale Beisner of Ava; sisters-in-law Penny Beisner of Anna, Barbara Beisner of Ava; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Doris Lunsford; and two brothers, Bob Beisner and Gary Beisner.

Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will be accorded.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Ebenezer Memorial Cemetery in Rockwood.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Salvation Army.
