Irene Idell “Grams” Robertson, 98, of Grand Tower, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at 6:48 p.m. surrounded with her family at her side.

She was born to Harlow and Louise Dietrich Cotner on April 18, 1918, in Menfro, Mo.

She married Loren Thomas Robertson on Dec. 8, 1948, at St. Louis. He died on March 3, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Bob, Daniel and Junior; two daughters, Pat and Roberta; five grandchildren, Joey, Rachel, Shannon, Timmy and Gayla; five brothers, Virgil, Lester, Homer, Conway and Marvin; and one sister, Alice.

Survivors include six sons, Thomas (Lucy) Robertson, Frank (Rita) Robertson and Stanley (Lana) Robertson, all of Grand Tower, Larry (Von) Robertson of Wolf Lake, James Robertson and Charles (Rhonda) of Murphysboro and Gary (Barbara) Robertson of McClure; three daughters, Alma Cripps, Shirley Robertson and Pearl Knupp, all of Grand Tower; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one nephew, Lester Robertson of Ponotoc, Miss.; and two nieces, Donna Hindman of Cape Girardeau and Sandra Michael of Commerce, Mo.

She attended Wolf Lake Assembly of God Church. She loved ice cream cakes and fried chicken. In her spare time she would make quilts for the grandchildren, went with Lucy to play music at various places in Southern Illinois and take care of her fish tank.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Meredith Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Tower, with the Rev. Peggy Camp and Jim Stamp officiating. Burial was in Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.
