Imogene Eddleman Closser

Imogene Eddleman Closser, 97, of Dongola, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born on March 22, 1920, in Dongola, the daughter of William Daniel and Ima Smoot Keller.

She married Edwin Eddleman. He preceded her in death in 1978. She later married Lee Closser, who preceded her in death in 2014.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola. She was a life member and the oldest living member of the American Thresherman Association in Pinckneyville. She loved to be in the kitchen making angel food cake from scratch.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Kim) Eddleman of Dongola; a niece, Sharon Hicks of White Bear Lake, Minn.; cousins Edith Tompkins of Tennessee, Barbara (Deon) Davis of Dongola and Sarah Keller of Cape Girardeau; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edwin Eddleman and second husband, Lee Closser; brothers Clemen Keller and Cleo Keller; and a sister, Havi Cooley.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with the Rev. Mickey Williams officiating. Interment was in the American Legion Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Dongola.
