George McCommons

George McCommons, 84, of Dongola, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at the Union County Long Term Care Facility. 

He was born on April 17, 1936, in Dongola, the son of Van and Lodema Eddleman McCommons. 

He married Marcella Dillow on May 5, 1951, in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2008.

Mr. McCommons is survived by his children, Carroll (Bobbie) McCommons of Dongola, Brenda Cooley of Dongola and Diane (Paul) Kraatz of Jonesboro; grandchildren Becky (Todd) Garner, Shannon (Scott) Vogler, George McCommons, Missie (Tim) Freeburg, Shelly Clark, Georgia Allen, Paula (Aaron) Stover and Cody (Kim) Kraatz; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; siblings Judy Dixon of Benton and Wesley McCommons of Olathe, Kans.; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella McCommons; his parents; a son-in-law, Richard Cooley; and siblings Vanita Neve, Mary Holeman and Steve McCommons.

Private graveside services will be held for the family.
