Geneva Trexler

Geneva Trexler, 87, of Cobden, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Union County Hospital in Anna. 

She was born on Jan. 20, 1936, in Blytheville, Ark., the daughter of Hazel Fisher Sims. 

She married Franklin Delano Trexler. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1996.

She is survived by her children, Thomas, Ricky, Jackie and Marshall Trexler, all of Cobden, Sherry Trexler of Anna and Elizabeth (Sam) Kirby of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Teresa Cavaness and Debra Ward; four great-grandchildren, Mary Jane, Landon and Kamres Cavaness and Cerianna Ward; a brother, Roy (Alice) Sims of Buncombe, a sister, Mildred Sims of West Frankfort, nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother and 11 siblings, Floyd, Boyd “Jack” and Marshall Sims, Lula Mae Donas, Ellen Treece, Wanda Curlee, Barbara Roye, Cathy Glenn, Betty Skelton and infant sisters Mary and Maxine.

She was a member of the Cobden Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed quilting but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Geneva Trexler were at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor Kevin McNeely officiating. Interment followed in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
