Gail West Rigby

Gail West Rigby, 78, of Gainesville, Ga., died Saturday morning, Feb. 2, 2019. 

She was born on Nov. 20, 1940, in Cache, the daughter of Daisy Fisher West and Joshua West. 

She was educated in Grand Chain and in Elkhart, Ind. 

She met Terry in Elkhart, Ind. at Youth for Christ meetings. They were married on June 5, 1959, at the First Church of God in Elkhart, Ind. 

For many years she taught Good News Clubs, gave piano lessons and reared her children, working at R.R. Donnelleys to send them to college. She faithfully attended local churches, serving by playing the piano and organ, and singing.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Lee Rigby, who died on July 2, 1995; brothers Bruce, Gene and Jack; a sister, Sue, and brother-in-law, Robert; brothers-in-law Gene Winterbottom and Chuck Thomason; sister-in-law Donna (Sichling) West; and sister and brother-in-law, Loyd and Sue Hayes.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Terry Rigby; a daughter, Dawn (Steve) White of Gainesville, Ga.; a daughter, Joy (Brian) Weiss of Indianapolis, Ind.; sons-in-law Steve White and Brian Weiss; four grandchildren, Stevie (Monika) White, Sarah (Brian) Phillips, Carly and Madison Weiss; as well as one great-grandson, James. 

She is also survived by her siblings, Langley (Wanda) West, Luella Thomason, Jane Winterbottom, Joann West and Patsy (Frank) Stetter; sisters-in-law Shirley Bunker West and Sherrie Gardner West; as well as a sister and brother-in-law, Tim and Connie Rigby. 

Services in Georgia were at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6. 

Local services will be Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery near Dongola.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
