Everett 'Butch' Mainer

Everett “Butch” Mainer, 73, of McClure, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. 

He was born on June 19, 1945, in Anna, the son of Lloyd H. and Minnie Cavaness Mainer. 

He married Barbara Bader on Nov. 18, 1982, in Rock Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mainer of McClure; three sisters, Maudie (Thomas) Kaufman of Pekin, Erma Foster and Verna Mainer, both of Bedford, Ind.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Oma Mainer, Frieda Mainer and Natalie Boyd; and one brother, Jimmy Lee Mainer. 

Mr. Mainer was retired from Shawnee Elementary School in Wolf Lake, where he worked many years as the custodian. 

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a life member of Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna, the American Legion and Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. 

Interment will be in the Lindsey Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard military honor team of Marion. 

Friends can call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, today, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Masonic rites will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday, today, at the funeral home. 

Memorials can be made to Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111 or to Lindsey Cemetery.
