Ethel Lechtenberger

Ethel Lechtenberger, 83, of Anna, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on July 15, 1935, in Grantsburg, the daughter of Carl and Mabel Rector Mixen. She married Victor Lechtenberger on Dec. 2, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2018.

She is survived by her four sons, Lindell (Tracey) Lechtenberger of Anna, Jack (Bev) Richardson of Dongola, Bobby (Melody) Richardson of Anna and Harold Richardson of New Athens; seven grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Lechtenberger, Armanda Miller, Jacinta (Matt) Hupe, Josh (Breannen) Richardson, Justin (Natalie) Richardson and Tonya (Clinton) Marshall; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Rossdeutcher of Lick Creek; two brothers, Bobby Lee Mixen and Carl Wayne Mixen, both of Anna; many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor Lechtenberger; a son, Lonnie Lynn Lechtenberger; and an infant sister, Mary Evelyn Mixen.

She was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek. She worked as a cook and waitress at various restaurants and later as a caregiver. She was a kind and caring woman, she was always ready and willing to help someone in need.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor Jack Richardson and Pastor Bobby Richardson officiating. Interment was in the Anna Cemetery.
