Dorothy Hubbs

Dorothy Hubbs, 90, of Anna, died at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, 2018, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1928, in Union County, the daughter of Ernest and Maude Johnson Clutts. 

She married William “Bill” Hubbs Sr. on May 11, 1946.  He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2014. 

She was a founding member of Anna Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending her Sunday School class, the Deborah Class. She also enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes and cooking for her family.  She was a babysitter for many years.

She is survived by her sons, Ron (Karen) Hubbs of Anna and Bill (Donna) Hubbs Jr. of Anna; grandchildren Tim Hubbs and Dustin Hubbs; great-grandchildren Jacob, Nathan, Bridgette and Kathlynn; nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ernest Dewayne Hubbs; a grandson, David Hubbs; a brother, Clifton Clutts; and a sister, Reba Mull.

Funeral services for Dorothy Hubbs were at noon Monday, Nov. 19, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Interment followed in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
