Dorothy E. Wood

Dorothy E. Wood, 88, of Anna, died at 4:08 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, with her two daughters by her side, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on June 15, 1928, in Union County, the daughter of Charles P. and Martha Ella Mangum Ray.

She married Harry Wood in 1970 in Biloxi, Miss. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sue Williams and Darla Williams, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Frankie J. Williams and Chantelle Richardson; three great-grandchildren, Aaron McClure, Katelynn Williams and Bryan Williams; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Wood; one son, Frank Williams; three brothers and one sister.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was past president. For many years, she owned and operated her ceramic and quilting business.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wood were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 2, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
