Delia Pauline Atchison

Delia Pauline Atchison, 96, of Racine, Wis., and formerly of Pomona, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at the Ridgewood Care Center in Racine, Wis. 

She was born on Dec. 23, 1922, on the family farm in Pomona, the daughter of Harrison and Myrtle Nance Tripp.

She married Ralph Norman Weiss on Aug. 18, 1938, in Alto Pass. They later lived in State Park, Ill. (1949), Dupo (1951), Cahokia (1953) and Collinsville  (1961). 

She married Floyd Atchison in 1980. They moved from Collinsville to Wentzville, Mo., in 1984, and then to Las Vegas, Nev., where Floyd died in February 1998.

She moved to Racine, Wis., in July, 2003, to be near her oldest daughter and family. 

She was always active in her church, singing in the choir and involved in women’s activities. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She enjoyed  sewing, crafts, and oil painting.

She leaves her family of two daughters Loretta Hall (Chuck) of Racine, Wis., and Carolyn Pastore, of Montpelier, Vt.; and a sister Sylvia Jones, of Troy.

She also leaves three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and 11 step-great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Imogene; four brothers, Clyde, Hillary, Harrison and Donald; and son-in-law Harold Pastore.

Graveside services will be at noon Saturday, Aug. 10, at Dutch Ridge Cemetery in Pomona. Interment will follow. Everyone is asked to go directly to the cemetery.
