Cletus McLane
Cletus McLane, 65, of Metropolis, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1956, in Cook County, the son of Raymond Roy “Speedy” and Mable Geraldine Mayberry McLane.
He married the love of his life, Rebecca “Becky” Miller, on Aug. 6, 1977.
Mr. McLane is survived by his wife, Becky McLane of Metropolis; two sons, Cletus William Jr. “CJ” (Rachel) McLane of Metropolis and Matthew Alston (Bethany) McLane of Paducah; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Leah Beth, Trenton, Josiah and Caleb; two brothers, Leon (Myra) McLane and James (Bonnie) McLane, all of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.
Mr. McLane was called to preach at the age of 17 at the Elco Youth Camp and continued to pastor for 47 years.
He pastored for the last three years at the Anchor of Hope Pentecostal Church in Metropolis.
He loved doing mission work in Mexico and Honduras throughout the years. He loved his church and church family and spending time with his family and all his grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, July 30, at the Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Danny Swinnea officiating. Interment was in Valley Mission Cemetery.
