Clara F. Harvell

Clara F. Harvell, 79, of Jonesboro, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and fur baby, Tinker, at 10:55 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023. 

She was born on Aug. 28, 1943, the daughter of Harry and Lorene Spurlock Morgan. 

She married Melvin Harvell on July 21, 1962. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2021.

Mrs. Harvell is survived by a son, Tony Harvell of Jonesboro; daughters Karen Harvell Rhine of Anna, Stacey (Eric) Chilman of Jonesboro and Janice (Eric) Osman of Anna; grandchildren Chey (Joseph) Harvell-Giles, Cori Rhine-Heembrock, Evan and Dylan Chilman, Addison and Avery Osman; great-grandchildren Ardea Rhine and Maverick Rhine-Heembrock; fur baby, Tinker; close friends Robyn Lacy, and Elsie; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Harvell; her parents; a brother, Ray Gene Morgan; and granddaughter Amanda Kay Rhine. 

Mrs. Harvell was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her church family. 

Memorial services were at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, with Pastor Perry Williams officiating. 

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
