Brenda Eddleman Rubenacker

Brenda Eddleman Rubenacker, 67, of Dewey, died at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018.

She was born on Aug. 13, 1951, in Cypress, the daughter of Cleo and Florence Eddleman. They preceded her in death. 

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Frank; daughters Tina (Tim) Hyde and Amy (Tim) Bloomer; son Paul Rubenacker; siblings Clayton Eddleman (Charolette) and Doris Brock; grandchildren Brenda Gordon and Christopher Bloomer; step-grandchildren Stacey Schaible and Spencer Hyde; and a great-grandchild, Nalayna Rosario. 

She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time outside planting flowers. She loved animals, never turning a stray away from her doorstep. She spent her free time reading, crocheting, traveling and spending time with her family. 

She worked at the News Gazette’s Rantoul office, retiring in 1997 after 20 years of employment.

 At her request, there will be no service or visitation. A Celebration of her Life will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the  Local 601 Union Hall  at 3301 N. Boardwalk in Champaign.
