Bill Thomas

Bill Thomas, 87, of Anna, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at his home surrounded by his daughters. 

He was born on Feb. 7, 1931, in Madison, the son of Cleve and Maggie Will Thomas. 

He married Vivian Noble on April 25, 1953, in San Diego, Calif. She preceded him in death on March 2, 1980.

Mr. Thomas is survived by three daughters, Sherry (Kerry) Aden of Cape Girardeau, Kelly Pearson of Cobden and Terri Thomas of Anna; three grandchildren, Kerrigan Moser, Jeremy Aden and Will Pearson; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian Thomas; two sisters, LaWanda Korando and Carolin Lacy; and two brothers, Norman Thomas and Robert Donald Thomas.

He was a loving father and grandfather.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  

He worked for over 29 years for Bunny Bread as a route man. He liked to fish, duck hunt and work in his yard. He enjoyed spending time with his coffee drinking friends at McDonald’s. 

Graveside services for Mr. Thomas were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Alto Pass Cemetery. The family and Pastor Mark Hasty officiated. Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the charity of the donor’s choice.
