Betty Jo Healey

Betty Jo Healey, 90, of Olive Branch, died at 8:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at the Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, Fla.

She was born on Dec.  28, 1929, in Olive Branch, the daughter of Sam and Dovie Denfip Farris.  

She married Russel L. Healey on April 3, 1951, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for the Deaf in St. Louis.

Betty and Russel were very involved with the Lutheran Church for the Deaf and the Missouri Synod. She was baptized at Holy Cross Deaf on April 1, 1956.

They enjoyed living in such places as St. Louis, Chicago, Canada, Texas and Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Russel; a brother, Don Farris of Olive Branch; sisters-in-law June Healey Kreuter of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Eleanor Farris of Goreville; many nieces, nephews, cousins and very good friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Ted Farris.

Funeral services were at noon Monday, Jan. 27, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Pastor Richard Moody of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for the Deaf officiating. Interment was in Olive Branch Cemetery.

The family extended thanks to the employees and volunteers at Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, Fla.

Crain-Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
