Bernard Lee ‘Bernie’ Steck II
Bernard Lee “Bernie” Steck II, 65, of Jonesboro, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1952, in Alton, the son of Bernard Lee and Ruth A. Trammel Steck.
He married Randy J. Fazette on June 28, 1975, at Inspiration Point.
He is survived by his wife, Randy J. Steck of Jonesboro; a daughter, Becky (Jeremy) Wheaton of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Jason Goodman, Tiffany Goodman, Christa Wheaton, Caitlyn Wheaton, Brody Gulledge and Nevaeh Wheaton; a sister, Sheryl (William) Bryant of Jonesboro; a niece, Jessica (Matt) Pearson of Jonesboro; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was very creative with his hands and worked as a welder and metal fabricator. He was a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast, which coincided with his love for the outdoors. He was a self-taught herpetologist and an avid fisherman. Earlier in his life he was a tattoo artist.
