Barbara Irene Glasco

Barbara Irene Glasco died at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born on June 28, 1935, at home in Ashland, Ill., the daughter of Clyde and Lula Mae Clemmons.

She married Keith DuWayne Sr. on March 16, 1957, in Ashland. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2017.

She is survived by her two sons, DuWayne (Vicki) Glasco of Cobden and Tim (Glenda) Glasco of Anna; grandsons Greg Glasco of Cobden and Mark (Amy) Glasco of Cobden; granddaughters Amanda Glasco of Jonesboro, Andrea Glasco of Cobden, Tracy Glasco of Cobden and Lauren (Eric) Myers of Cobden; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Jim) Barnhart; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and by her brother, Willie Clemmons.

Mrs. Glasco was an active member of the United Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was a much loved wife, “mom” and grandma to her entire family.

Every person she met has a story to tell about how she touched their life. When she wasn’t watching her “kids” or “grandkids” rodeo or play sports, you could find her at her kitchen table on the hill of her beautiful Southern Illinois farm with her loyal dog, Hash.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara I. Glasco were at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to United Missionary Baptist Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
