Barbara A. Corzine

Barbara A. Corzine, 82, of Christopher, and formerly of Dongola, died at 4:02 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at Good Samaritan in Mt. Vernon. 

She was born on Nov. 12, 1935, in Union County, west of Dongola, the daughter of Leo and Bonnie Pfaff Kerr. 

She married Byford Corzine on Dec. 11, 1954. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2011. 

She was a good Christian lady who accepted the Lord at an early age. She graduated from Ullin High School. Barbara worked many years at Smoot Oil Company and as a real estate agent in Anna. 

She was a member of the Women’s Red Hat’s Society. Barbara was a wonderful homemaker, a loving wife and mother. 

She is survived by her son, Dr. James Clayton (Yolanda) Corzine of Christopher; siblings Florene Hornback of Arizona, Dr. Dean Kerr of California and Jeannie (Dale) Byassee of Nevada; a sister-in-law, Betty Swink of Christopher; a niece and nephews, Dr. Joey Hornback, Samantha Byassee, Ethen Byassee, Evan Byassee, Keith (Priscilla) Kerr, Braford (Donnella) Swink and Jason Milligan; and many other relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rhonda Susan Corzine; and a brother, Michael Kerr. 

Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, at Friendship Cemetery in Dongola, with Pastor Dean Severin officiating.
