August Paul Layman

August Paul Layman, 84, of Anna, and formerly of Benton, died at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at his home.

He was born on July 1, 1932, in West Frankfort, the son of William and Beatrice Layman Matthews.

He was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Jay and Cora Layman.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna.

He is survived by his brothers, Ray Earl Hosick, Donnie Hosick and Mike Hosick; one sister, Corrine Brookshire; family and friends at ILS 6.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; two brothers, Jack Layman and Roy Hosick; and one sister, Sharon Aiken.

Funeral Mass for August Paul Layman was at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Father Federico Higuera officiating. Interment was in Masonic-Odd Fellow Cemetery in Benton.
