Anita G. Hurst

Anita G. Hurst, 76, of Alto Pass, died at 3:27 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1940, in Cobden, the daughter of Lee and Roxie Newberry Pearson.

She is survived by her daughter, Tishea Pearson of Cobden; two grandchildren, Breeze and Justin Pearson; one great-grandchild, Izabell Hill; Johnny Moutel of Elco, who was like a son; three brothers, Donald Pearson of Cambria, Richard Pearson of Carbondale and Kenneth Pearson of Cobden; a sister, Fay Marks of Cobden; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Hurst; a son, Berry Pearson; three brothers, Gene, Corkey and Doug Pearson; and two sisters, Kay Robinson and Lillian Kinder.

A celebration of life potluck dinner for Mrs. Hurst will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Makanda Fellowship Hall.
