Tree branches coated in heavy ice fell close to the street in Alto Pass. The picture was taken last Saturday morning. Freezing rain fell throughout the area on Friday. Heavy ice was more prevalent in the Alto Pass area than it was in some other parts of the Union County area.
A worship service is planned Thursday, Jan. 19, at Kornthal Church near Jonesboro. The service is set for 7 p.m. The church is located 2 1/2 miles south of Jonesboro, right off Illinois Route 127.
