Union County General Surgery to offer free hernia screenings

Union County General Surgery plans to offer a free hernia screening on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Screenings will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 515 N. Main St., Suite C, in Anna.

Registration is required and is available by calling 855-930-1365.

In announcing plans for the free screenings, Union County General Surgery shared the following information:

If you experience a heavy feeling in your abdomen when you bend, pain when you lift heavy objects, or a lump that enlarges when you strain and disappears when you lie down, it could be a hernia.

Some hernias with few symptoms may just need monitoring by your primary care physician. Those with more serious symptoms may need treatment.
