Tuesday, April 2, Election Day in Union County

Tuesday, April 2, is Election Day in Union County.

Voters will cast ballots in municipal and school board elections. 

A proposed sales tax increase also is on the ballot.

Here’s a look at who is on the ballot in the various elections (with candidates listed as they appear on the ballot):

City of Anna

For mayor: Steve Hartline, Earl Miller.

For city councilman: Alfred E. Kamp, Bryan S. Miller, Kathy Bryan, Martha Ann Webb, Michelle “Shelly” Glasco-Pearl, Quinn Edwards, Michael Bigler. Four will be elected.

City of Jonesboro

For alderman, Ward One: Brandi Boyd.

For alderman, Ward Two: Beverly K. Schaefer.

For alderman, Ward Three: Michael S. Stegle.

Village of Alto Pass

For village president: Scott Tripp.

For village trustee: Mila Maring, Joel Murray. Two will be elected.

For village clerk: Kelli Ellis.

Village of Cobden

For village trustee: Patrick Brumleve, Alma Gomez, Louann Elwell, Todd Dietterle, Larry Hackethal. Three will be elected.

Village of Dongola

For village trustee: Richard Michael, John L. Snell, Patrick “Joey” Ferguson. Three will be elected.

For village trustee, unexpired two-year term: Donavan Wright.

Village of Mill Creek

For village trustee: Loretta Walls, Valerie Byrd, Jason Stroud. Three will be elected.

Dongola Library District

For library trustee, full six-year term: Amy K. Ulrich.

Stinson Memorial Library District

For library trustee, full six-year term: Janet Hunter, Marilyn Keller. Two will be elected.

Regional Board

For members of the Regional Board of School Trustees, Franklin, Johnson, Massac and Williamson counties, six-year term: Marleis Trover (Johnson County), Jean Chamness (Franklin County). Two to be elected. 

For members of the Regional Board of School Trustees, Franklin, Johnson, Massac and Williamson counties, unexpired two-year term: No candidate.

For members of the Regional Board of School Trustees, Alexander, Jackson, Massac, Pulaski and Union counties: Grant Woodside (Perry County), Larry Houston (Alexander County). Two to be elected.

Lick Creek Community Consolidated School District No. 16

For members of board of education, full four-year term: Boyd Blayne Holshouser, Aaron Stover, Allen E. Plott, Ronald J. Thorn. Four to be elected.

Anna Community Consolidated School District No. 37

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Grant L. Capel, Dave “Sully” Sullivan, Tina Waller, Craig Dillman. Four to be elected.

Cobden Unit School District No. 17

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Lisa Tomazzoli, Robert Furlow, Terra Lyerla, Gerald Britt. Three will be elected.

Jonesboro Community Consolidated School District No. 43

For members of the board of education, unexpired two-year term: No candidate.

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Casey Johnson, Justin Snell, Robert W. McAlister. Three to be elected.

Buncombe Consolidated School District No. 43

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Shane Casey, Heather McIlwain, Debra Goddard. Three to be elected.

Cypress Elementary School District No. 64

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Richie Oliver, Mandy Moore, Michael Schultz, Howard Penrod. Four to be elected.

Dongola Community Unit School District No. 66

For member of the board of education, unexpired two-year term: Philip Miller.

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Brenda Hogue, Wayne Brown, Mark Eddleman. Three to be elected.

Goreville Community School District No. 1

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Mark Shumake, Judy Billingsley, Teresa Baker, Scott Patterson, Stephen Benard. Four to be elected.

Anna-Jonesboro Community High School District No. 81

For member of the board of education, unexpired two-year term: No candidate.

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Shane Osman, Dedria Blakely, Craig Partridge. Four to be elected.

Vienna High School District No. 13-3

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: David Stewart, Kimberly Shoemaker, Randy Huckelberry. Three to be elected.

Shawnee Community College District No. 631

For trustees of the community college district, six-year term: Samuel K. Stratemeyer, Steve Heisner, Maxine Russell, Andrea Witthoft, Michael Kerley.

For trustees of the community college district, unexpired two-year term: John Windings, William Nichols. One to be elected.

Shawnee Community Unit School District No. 84

For members of the board of education, unexpired two-year term: No candidate.

For members of the board of education, full four-year term: Trenton Colyer, Jennifer Webb, Angie McMahan, Jason Stegle. Three to be elected.

Little Egypt Water District

For the board: Jeff Hope, Garry W. Jenkins, Daniel L. Scott, Doug Peebles, Pete Woolley.

Shall a retailers’ occupation tax and service occupation tax (commonly known as a “sales tax”) be imposed in the County of Union, Illinois, at a rate of 1 percent to be used exclusively for school facility purposes?
