St. Louis Cardinals' winter caravan plans stops in area

The St. Louis Cardinals’ annual winter caravan is scheduled to visit six states over four days and feature appearances by more than 30 current and former players.

Paducah and Cape Girardeau are among the communities which are on the schedule.

The caravan is presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance.

The caravan is scheduled to begin on Jan. 18 and is set to include stops across Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana. Players and alumni will split into six groups to cover 20 cities.

The caravan is slated to be at the Paducah McCracken Convention & Expo Center in Paducah at noon on Monday, Jan. 21.

At 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, the caravan is scheduled to be at the Osage Community Center in Cape Girardeau.

Current players and prospects scheduled to participate include Paul DeJong, Jack Flaherty, Harrison Bader, Jose Martinez, Jordan Hicks, John Brebbia, Yairo Munoz, Alex Reyes, Dakota Hudson, Andrew Knizner, Lane Thomas and Ryan Helsley.

The caravan which is scheduled to visit Cape Girardeau and Paducah is slated to feature current players Alex Reyes, Daniel Ponce de Leon and Tommy Edman.

Cardinals’ alumni who are scheduled to visit are Brad Thompson and Bernard Gilkey.

Autographs will be free but limited to the first 400 fans, 15 and under, through the door on the day of the event. 

The Cardinals also encourage fans to bring nonperishable food donations to each of the Missouri stops.
