Shop with Cop/Firefighter again planned in Anna

Nearly 40 children are expected to participate in the annual Shop with a Cop/Firefighter event sponsored by the Anna Police Department and Anna Fire Deparment.

The long-standing holiday tradition is scheduled to continue next week in the Union County community.

Shop with a Cop/Firefighter evenings are planned on Dec. 4 and on Dec. 6. All of the children who will be participating are from Anna.

On Dec. 4, the children will have dinner at 6 p.m. at McDonald’s in Anna.

On Dec. 6, dinner is scheduled at 6 p.m. at Pizza Hut.

Following dinner on both evenings, the children will go to Walmart to do Christmas shopping. They will be taken to the store in police and fire department vehicles.

Shop with a Cop/Firefighter is made possible thanks to generous donations from many supporters in the community. 

Last week, the Anna City Council approved a $500 donation to the program.
