Rural Health welcomes scholarship applications
Rural Health Inc. announces that it is funding and administering eight health care scholarship opportunities.
Rural Health Inc. offers health care in a service area which includes Union, Johnson and Massac counties.
RHI offers services in OB/GYN, medical, dental, and psychiatry.
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior at each of the following schools: Anna-Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Goreville, Joppa, Massac County, Shawnee and Vienna.
Applicants will be recognized for their desire to pursue a career in health care.
Rural Health Inc. outlined details for scholarship applicants. Applicants must:
Currently be enrolled as a high school senior attending school at Anna-Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Goreville, Joppa, Massac County, Shawnee or Vienna.
Complete high school requirements by the spring of 2020.
Be in the top 30 percent of their class.
Have plans to pursue a health care degree or certificate at an accredited college or university.
Provide proof of enrollment at an accredited institution of higher learning prior to receiving the monetary award, which will be issued in the form of a check made directly to the student for college-related expenses.
Complete the Rural Health scholarship application packet and submit to the guidance counselor by March 11, 2020.
The application packet submitted by each student will include:
A completed application form.
A 300-word typed essay discussing the reasons the applicant is pursuing a degree in health care, including the applicant’s health care goals for the future.
An official transcript.
A letter of recommendation by a faculty member, signed and dated.
Only completed packets will be accepted.
Applicants may not be children of Rural Health Inc. employees or Rural Health Inc. board members.
