Photo exhibit, art classes, play auditions, workshop set at Anna Arts Center
A digital photography exhibit, art classes, auditions and a poster contest workshop are coming up at the Shawnee Hills Arts Council’s Anna Arts Center.

Photography Exhibit, Reception: A Strictly Digital Photography Highways and Byways exhibit is being held in conjunction with the Illinois bicentennial observance in 2018.
A reception for the exhibit is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. Awards will be announced at 3:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Arts Classes: Art classes are scheduled Sept. 27, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., or Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 11.
An Artistic Beginnings arts class will be for children ages 4 to 7. An Artistic Journeys class will be for young people ages 8 to 16.
Sept. 27, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m, a sign language class begins. The class is for six weeks.
Auditions: Auditions for a Las Posadas play are planned Oct. 1-2. The auditions are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Las Posadas will be presented at 2 p.m. on Nov. 18. The play celebrates the journey of Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus. A reception will follow the play.
Workshops: Smokey the Bear poster contest workshops are planned Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 10 a.m.
The free workshop is being held to enter a national poster contest. The workshop is being cosponsored with the Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club.
