Nina, Pinta replicas slated to be in Cape Girardeau
Replicas of two ships used by Christopher Columbus are scheduled to be in the region this fall.
The replicas of the Nina and Pinta are scheduled to arrive Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Mississippi River front in Cape Girardeau.
The Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau reported that on Friday, Sept. 29, the Nina and Pinta are scheduled to open for tours in Cape Girardeau.
The ships will be docked at Riverfront Park until their departure early Tuesday morning, Oct. 3.
While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour.
Admission will be $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for students 5 to 16. Children 4 and under get in free.
The ships are scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Reservations are not necessary.
The convention bureau noted that group tours will be welcomed.
