Mounds Early Learning Center plans resource fair

The Mounds Early Learning Center is planning to host a community resource fair on July 20.

The resource fair is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is located at 327 N. Reader in Mounds.

The staff will be completing intake applications for the 2017-2018 school year. 

Applications for Head Start will be accepted for children ages birth to 5 years of age. Families who want to apply are advised to bring the child’s birth certificate and proof of income to the resource fair. 

Completion of an intake application is not needed to come to the resource fair.

A number of agencies are scheduled to be represented at the event, including Shawnee Community College, Southern Seven Health Department, WIC, Child Care and Family Connections, Family Counseling, University of Illinois Extension and Community Health. 

Resources from area businesses will be featured. 

Community Health will be conducting school physicals. They will be accepting medical card, private insurance or private pay.

The event also will feature a bounce house, cotton candy, snow cones, food and door prizes. For more information, call 745-6703.
