Major project underway at Anna City Park

Construction of a new concessions/restroom building is underway as part of a major improvement project at the Anna City Park in Anna.

Wissinger Construction of Cairo is the general contractor for the project; local subcontractors also have been working on the project. The building project is slated to be completed by Aug. 1.

Resurfacing and recoloring of tennis and basketball courts at the park also have been done as part of the improvement project.

E.T. Simonds Construction Company of Carbondale is the general contractor for the play courts project.

The cost of the improvements is just over $300,000, with municipal and state grant funds paying for the work.
