Learn, Earn program for veterans set at Shawnee

Local veterans are invited to attend an upcoming program which is scheduled at Shawnee Community College.

The event, called Learn and Earn, is set for Tuesday, Feb. 18. The program is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m. in the L Atrium on the college’s main campus near Ullin.

Learn and Earn will feature presentations outlining various education, medical, and business-related benefits which are available to veterans. 

The program is being hosted as part of the ongoing efforts by Shawnee Community College to make connections with local veterans who may be under-utilizing services which are available to them.

The college notes that those who plan to attend are encouraged to bring a spouse or caregiver to the event.

As a way to say thanks to local veterans, the Veterans Resource Center will be offering a $65 Visa gift card to the first 20 veterans who pre-register their attendance.
