Las Posadas, student exhibit planned at Anna Arts Center

A special holiday season event and a student art exhibit are planned this weekend at the Shawnee Hills Arts Council’s Anna Arts Center.

The arts center is located at 125 W. Davie St. in Anna.

Las Posadas

Las Posadas, a telling of the Christmas story, will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24. Admission is free.

The event is a celebration of Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus.

Las Posadas will feature a skit, pinatas and refreshments.

Student Art Exhibit

An art exhibit for students in the 4th grade through seniors in high school is planned Nov. 24 through Dec. 1 at the arts center.

Delivery of art work for the exhibit was scheduled Nov. 18-19.

Ribbons for first place, second place and third place will be awarded in each of the following categories: painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, sculpture and fine craft.

A reception for the show is planned from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24.
