Jobless rate 3.9 percent in October

The Illinois Department of Employment Security, IDES, reports that nonfarm payrolls increased a record high 1,900 jobs during October.
The state’s unemployment rate was unchanged at an historically low 3.9 percent in October, based on preliminary data provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, BLS, and released by IDES.
The September monthly change in payrolls was revised from the preliminary report from an increase of 4,800 jobs to an increase of 8,500 jobs.
The state’s unemployment rate was 0.3 of a percentage point higher than the national unemployment rate reported for October, which was 3.6 percent.
