A-J Safe Celebration welcomes donations for this year's event

Anna-Jonesboro Community High School is seeking donations in preparation for its yearly Safe Celebration event.

Safe Celebration is planned in conjunction with the events of graduation night in order to offer A-J seniors a safe and substance-free graduation celebration.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Southeast Missouri State University Recreational Center in Cape Girardeau following the A-J graduation ceremony this spring.

Safe Celebration is open to all graduating A-JCHS seniors. Activities this year include swimming, basketball, dodge ball and prizes. All activities will be supervised by adult chaperones.

Organizers for the event are asking for monetary donations to help cover expenses.

They also welcome donations for items to be used as door prizes at the celebration (such as electronics, gift cards and sporting goods).

Prizes can be dropped off at Anna-Jonesboro Community High School at 608 S. Main St. Monetary donations can be dropped off or mailed.

Also, a link to donate can be found posted on the A-J Facebook page, facebook.com/TheAJWildcats.
