A-J to host playoff game on Saturday

Sixteen games are on tap as the 2018 Illinois High School Association, IHSA, Class 3A football postseason gets underway this Friday and Saturday.

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School Wildcats are scheduled to host one of the opening round games.

A-J, 7-2, is slated to host West Frankfort, also 7-2, in a game which kicks off at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Pit.

Gates are scheduled to open at 11 a.m. Admission, as set by IHSA, is $5 for everyone. No passes will be accepted.

The Huddle Club will  have food for sale, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Shuttles are scheduled to run from the parking lots along South Main Street at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church and Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. Shuttle service also will be available from the First Baptist Church in Anna.

The game will be broadcast on WIBH radio in Anna.
